How the Maya Train is driving Real Estate investment in Mexico

The new Maya Train or Tren Maya is set to - according to the United Nations - triple the tourism dollars streaming into South East Mexico.

The trans-peninsular speed train will connect visitors from the North (Cancun) to the South, particularly the areas of Yucatan and Quintana Roo. The Southern stops of the Maya Train contain many important tourist sites, such as Mayan historical and archaeological sites.

The train will usher in a new dynamic form of tourism by providing transportation through which tourists can access many different cultural gems and natural attractions more quickly and easily.

The Cancun-Tulum tourist corridor is already the most popular area in Mexico for tourism - and as a result - property investments and with this new addition, many more people will be investing.

It will reduce travel costs and tour prices by making it easier to get to various locations such as Chichen-Itza, Cancun, Puerto Morelos, Playa del Carmen, Xcaret, Akumal, Tulum, Coba, and Bacalar.

The construction of the Maya Train may be beneficial for vacation rentals in strategic locations by providing a place for tourists to stop along their journey. If a property is further from the train's passage, the increased flow of tourists along the Maya Riviera may generate more value and potential for long-term rentals.

On the Riviera Maya, the Maya Train will have four stops (Xcaret, Puerto Aventuras, Akumal, and Cobá) and four stations (Cancun, Puerto Morelos, Playa del Carmen, and Tulum), making these areas excellent places in Mexico to invest in property, run vacation rentals from, and generate high surplus value.

The Maya Train is a notable addition to the Riviera Maya's amazing sights and experiences, such as the Mayan jungle, beautiful beaches, and the archaeological sites of Tulum and Cobá. The project will benefit the economy by promoting new real estate developments in the region.
